Water Intake Calculation steps - Formulae to calculate how much water a person should drink daily


Determine how much water you should drink per day based on following simple steps:

  • Step 1: Multiply Your weight in Kilograms (Kg) by your age. If your weight is in pound (Lbs) then multiply Your weight in pounds with 2.2 to convert it into kilograms.
  • Step 2: Divide the resulting value by 28.3.
  • Step 3: The resulting value is how many ounces of water you should drink each day. To convert ounce to liters, multiply the value by 0.02957. Let us round it to 0.03
if you want to see  your result in cups, then divide the amount of water in ounces by 8.

Amount of water in ounces = ( Your_Weight_in_Kg × Your_Age ) ÷ 28.3
Amount of water in ounces = ( ( Your_Weight_in_Pound ÷ 2.2 ) × Your_Age ) ÷ 28.3
Amount of water in liters = ( ( Your_Weight_in_Kg × Your_Age ) ÷ 28.3 ) × 0.03
Amount of water in liters = ( ( ( Your_Weight_in_Pound ÷ 2.2 ) × Your_Age ) ÷ 28.3 ) × 0.03
Amount of water in Cups = Amount of water in ounces ÷ 8

Sample Water Intake Calculation:

Your_Weight_in_Kg = 70

Your_Age = 30

Amount of water in ounces = ( 70 X 30 ) / 28.3 = 70.20 ounces

Amount of water in ounces = ( ( 154.324 / 2.2 ) X 30 ) / 28.3 = 70.20 ounces

Amount of water in liters = ( ( 70 X 30 ) / 28.3 ) X 0.03 = 2.08 liters

Amount of water in liters = ( ( ( 154.324 / 2.2 ) X 30 ) / 28.3 ) X 0.03 = 2.08 liters

Amount of water in Cups = 70.20 / 8 = 8.76 cups
