How to upload favicon to blogger blogs or other websites?


Favicons are small 16x16 icon files that are displayed next to the URL of your website in a browser's address bar. This helps to identify your website quickly from other sites which are bookmarked.

You can set a new favicon to your blogger website in few simple steps:

1. Login to blogger.com
 

2. Go to the admin area of your blogger website



3. Click on the Layout tab on left menu


4. You can see a "Favicon" block on the top of your blogger website layout page


5. Click on the block, this will load a popup page with following message
"Configure Favicon - Upload custom favicon - Select a favicon file. Please use a square image that's less than 100KB."
6. Select a favicon file and upload. favicon file should have a ".ico" extension.

7. Clear cache and reload your website

You can use any image manupulation tools or online favicon generators given below to create favicons from images. Upload an image (GIF, JPEG or PNG) and convert it to a Windows favicon (.ico) file.

  • Create a favicon using photoshop or any other tools
  • Upload it to the root directory of your site
  • Include the following code in the head of your HTML document.
  • Clear cache and reload your website
