How to Create and Manage Google adsense Link ads?


What is Adsense link units?
Link units are vertical and horizontal ad units provided by Google adsense which shows only links of topics which are generated based on the contents on the page you are viewing. it display a list of topics that are relevant to the content. These type of ad units are closely targeted to the interests of your users. Because users directly interact with the ad unit, they may be more interested in the ads they eventually see.

How to create Google adsense Link units?
Inorder to create link units, follow these steps:


  • Login to your Google adsense account
  • Click on "My ads" link , placed next to "Home" link on top of the page.
  • On the displayed form enter "Name" for the ad
  • From the "Ad Size" list box, Select "Link ads" (default selection will be "recommended" )
  • 728 x 15 Horizontal Large, 468 x 15 Horizontal Medium, 200 x 90 Vertical X-Large, 180 x 90 Vertical Large and 160 x 90 Vertical Medium
  • Select an Ad style
  • Give a channel name for tracking the ad's performance
  • click on "Save and Get code" button
  • Copy the ad code and embed it in your Website web page, in the place where you would like to display the ad.

How publishers are paid for displaying link units on their webpages?
As mentioned above link units display a list of topics that are relevant to the content of the webpage. So clicking on the Topic links doesn't generate earnings, but the adSense publishers are paid for clicks on the ads that are linked from link unit topics as they are pay-per-click Google ads.
