Measurements of Ark built by Biblical Noah
According to Genesis 6:15 of Holy Bible, God describes to Noah what should be length, breadth and height of the gaint ship ( Ark ) that he has to built inorder to accomodate and safeguard the pairs of all living creatures on earth from flood.
Genesis 6:15 New International Version (NIV) says :
Noah's Ark dimensions in meters
1 cubit (cbt) of length is equal to 0.46 meters (m)
So the dimensions of Noah's ark would be as follows:
Length of Noah's Ark = Three hundred cubits ( 300 cbt ) = 300 X 0.46 m = 137.16 meters
Width ( breadth ) of Noah's Ark = Fifty cubits ( 50 cbt ) = 50 X 0.46 m = 22.86 meters
Height of Noah's Ark = Thirty cubits ( 30 cbt ) = 30 X 0.46 m = 13.716 meters
In feet length
Noah's Ark is about 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high.
How long did the flood during Noah's period last?
As per Genesis 7 & 8 , After 7 days from the day the door of Ark was shut, it started raining. it rained for 40 days and nights and for another 150 days the water prevailed on earth. So it was 190 days of flood. After that the ark grounded itself on top of Mount Ararat.
Even though the flood lasted only for 190 days, the people and animals in the ark came of the ark after another 6 months ( 60 X 30 = 180 days).
So the total number of days they spent on Ark was 377 days.
In other words it is One year and 17 days. ( one month = 30 days ) = ( 12 X 30 ) + 17 = 377 days
Noah was 600 years 2 months and 10 days old when he entered into the ark (Genesis. 7:4)
He was 600 years 2 months and 17 days old when the rain started (Genesis. 7:11)
When they exited the ark he was 601 years 2 months and 27 days old (Genesis. 8:14)
So the total number of days they spent on Ark was 377 days
Total time of flood = 377 days - 7 days (days which God waited after Noah entered the Ark) = 370 days ( 190 days of flood water and 180 days waiting for land to become dry)
