List of documents required for new ration card application in Kerala and how to apply
Application for a new ration card should be addressed to Taluk Supply Officer (TSO) / City Rationing Officer (CRO) of applicant's residing area.
Primary document required are Residence certificate, Income certificate and incase the applicant's name is in another ration card then he/she should submit the reduction certificate ontained from previous TSO / CRO as proof for removing his/her name from old Ration card.
You can get the new application from your currently residing Taluk Supply Office.
In the application form, Enter your name address, ward number, house number, other member details, details of old card, details of any surrender / reducion certificate.
What are the documents required while submitting application for a new Ration Card?
If applicant / member name belong to any other ration card issued by same TSO/CRO and the applicant is applying for new ration card to same TSO/ CRO, then He/She can submit the application for Reduction certificate along with the application for new ration card.
Application for reduction certificate should contain:
A hand written application signed by the old card owner in a white paper requesting to remove the name of the applicant or member from the ration card
Orginal ration card (card which have the name of new applicant /member)
A copy of old ration card
When and where to submit the application?
Place of submiting the Application for Ration card: Taluk Supply Office where the applicant's residing area belong to.
Application should be addressed to : Taluk Supply Officer (TSO) / City Rationing Officer (CRO)
Day for submitting application : All Wednesdays ( 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM), for timings of your area, please contact your Taluk Supply Office
You applications will be cross checked by the rationing inspector and Supply officer, Your photo will be taken and will be given a future date on which you have to get your new card. visit Taluk Supply Office on the given day to get the card. Some times you will be asked to fetch your's / member's old card when you go for receiving the new card.
How to apply online for Ration card?
You can apply online through the Website of Civil supplies or through Akshaya kendra.
You should take the scanned copies of all reuired documents mention above. Fill in the online aplication and upload the scanned copies to the website. After submitting the application, take the printout of the online application and visit Taluk Supply Office with all documents and it copies on specific day (usually on wednesdays, kindly confirm this). There Your applications will be cross checked and verification process will be initiated and will be given a future date on which you have to get your new card.Visit on the given day and get your card.

- Dully filled Application form ( affix a Rs 5/- court fee stamp on top of application form)
- Residence certificate from your village officer or corresponding local authority as proof of your area of domicile
- Applicant's income certificate from village your village officer or corresponding local authority
- Applicant's Reduction certificate ( if the applicant previously beloned to another ration card, his / her name should be removed from that card. Reduction certificate is the document issued by applicant's old TSO / CRO stating the removal of applicant's name from the old card)
- Reduction certificate of other members ( if any other member of the family previously beloned to another ration card, his / her name should be removed from that card. Reduction certificate is the document issued by family member's old TSO / CRO stating the removal of applicant's name from the old card)
- Birth Certificate : if any of the member is a minor having age less than 12 years, a copy of the birth certificate should be produced
- Copy of old ration card
- Original card
- You should bring all orginal and copies of the certificates
