How to create Your own Google Custom Search Engine

Google Custom Search Engine: It is a service provided by Google Inc, by which any one who have a google account can create their own search engine. User can specify the sites from which he want to show the results. This services pull search results from Google indexed pages.

Here you will have 2 options 

CREATE A CUSTOM SEARCH ENGINE   and  MANAGE YOUR EXISTING SEARCH ENGINES.

Login using Your google account

You can use your google username and password to access this service, If you dont have a google account create one by clicking "Sign up for a new Google Account" on the top right of the screen. Your Google Account gives you access to Google Custom Search and other Google services.

To Create a new custom search Engine click on "CREATE A CUSTOM SEARCH ENGINE" of if you are loggeed in click on the link "New search engine..."

This will lead to url : http://www.google.com/cse/manage/create

Step1: SETUP YOUR CSE
Here Set-up / describe you search engine
Here you can specify the sites which you want to search

Step2: CUSTOMIZE YOUR CSE
Here you can modify the look and feel of your CSE
You can specify Results font color, size, search control width, color, etc and also the the way the result should be shown in the page.

You can completely customise your custome search engine
You can also specify the layout of your CSE. ie, the position of the search control and the result list.

You can choose the options like

1. showing the search control and list on same page
2. showing search control on right column and result on left side
3. showing search control in one page and result in another
4. showing results in google hosted page

Try the one which suits you the best.

Step 3: GET CODE OF YOUR CSE
Third step shows how to implement  your CSE control in your website. Copy the  CSE code and paste in your website or blogs as instructed.
